Platform streamlines emergency response, reduces overhead

OPEN Incorporated has announced the implementation of their SafetyPAD® suite of software products for Fire and Emergency Medical Services, have with Sumter County Fire & EMS, Florida.  The agency will use SafetyPAD to enhance the accuracy of information gathering in responding to medical emergencies and empower first responders to focus more on the patients and less on the paperwork.

“We have been making improvements each year to better serve the community,” said Sumter Deputy Chief of Administration Chief Stephen J. Kennedy. “It made sense to adopt SafetyPAD not only to provide better service to clients, but also to streamline emergency response processes and reduce overhead.”

Sumter County Fire & EMS is comprised of seven fire stations covering approximately 50,000 residents. Training for the department recently took place and the system went live on February 1.

Through SafetyPAD’s web-based Enterprise Reporting and CaseFlow modules, the software will provide detailed analysis of calls, procedures, status of report preparation, monitoring and corrective action requirements, as well as customizable reports to meet elected officials and the public’s need for information. The system’s unique Enterprise Agent module will allow near real-time information to be sent to key personnel in the event of catastrophic or widespread conditions occur that could affect the public’s need for medical response. The department will be able to provide rapid, appropriate and timely response based upon current conditions in the field.
