Maple Shade NJ
Burlington County

On December 19, 2010 a fire was reported at the Maple Terrace Apartments On Rudderow in Maple Shade, New Jersey, at 7:30 p.m.  Companies arrived to find heavy fire condition in the building with reports of an occupant missing.  Crews encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the apartment and in the roof line and set up for defensive operations.  The 2nd Alarm was struck.

Crews remained in defensive operations as Truck Companies operated with Ladder Pipes.  Multiple 2 1/2" hand lines were placed in operation.    A 3rd Alarm was sounded.  Two firefighters were treated and transported to an area hospital.   A total of 50 occupants were displaced from the building.

The occupant from the fire apartment was later found deceased in the apartment.  The fire was reported to have started on the first floor of the building.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced occupants.
