On January 28, 2012 at 10:30 A.M, a M.V.A Rescue box was transmitted on the Black Horse Pike in front of the Wawa in Mt. Ephraim,NJ.

Command arrived and reported a 2 vehicle accident involving a Police Unit.  He reported the Police unit to be off the roadway and smoking from the hood, and an SUV with the driver occupant trapped.

EMS treated and prepared to transport the Officer who was injured while additional EMS units were dispatched.

Mt. Ephraim’s Rescue Company arrived and began to stabilize the vehicle.  A hand line was stretched for precaution.  Crews worked to remove the door to extricate the victim from the drivers seat.

EMS transported the injured driver as well as another occupant from the vehicle.

A witness  stated the 2 vehicles collided which cause the SUV to roll over on its side.  She stated it appeared a person was trapped under the vehicle and civilians pushed the vehicle back to the upright position to free the person trapped under the vehicle.

Press reports indicated the Police Officer was responding to a call at the time of the crash.

E.M.S transported the injured to the Trauma Unit.

The roadway was shut down for an extended period of time in both directions as Police investigated.
