What Can Internet Companies Do In Emergency & Crisis Situations?

Can you picture yourself away from your social media accounts or your phone's apps for more than 2 days? Chances are you cannot.

Social media & internet companies are a big part of our life. Most of us use them daily, both for work and in our personal time.

These platforms have become such an important part of our everyday routine that it makes sense that they are also present when we find ourselves in an emergency.

Recent experiences have clearly proven that: responding to terrorist attacks, fires, earthquakes and other large crises showed the impact of companies like Facebook, Twitter and Waze in such situations.

But what services and technologies are available for emergency response organizations? And how can they harness the power of these platforms?

The European Emergency Number Association (EENA)  reached out to different internet companies and consolidated their contributions with those of EENA experts in a brand new case study document.

Take a look and discover examples, use cases, guidelines and recommendations on how emergency responders can use the technologies offered by big internet companies in crisis situations.

EENA’s conclusions are just as valid in North America and elsewhere as in Europe, and we are pleased to share the document with our readers.

Access the document at this link  (or click document cover image above), then click on the “READ THE DOCUMENT” button at bottom of page to download as a PDF file.
