Sharp New Training Projector
Tired of training officers or firefighters or dispatchers
in a darkened classroom with a pair of 15-inch TV monitors or an archaic
overhead projector? Project your video or computer images clearly and brightly
with a new kind of training projector from Sharp.
The XG-E1200U multimedia LCD projector is a high-brightness
LCD multimedia projector that offers 600 ANSI lumens of light output, brightly
visible even with the room lights on. Incorporating an RS-232C port, the

Avoid Missed Traffic with Channel Checker
Zetron's Public Safety Division introduced its
new Digital Signal Processor (DSP) based Universal Dual Channel Card featuring
"Channel-Check", an instant recall recorder option that captures
for immediate playback up to 4 minutes of radio activity on each of the
card's two channels. Recorder controls are intuitively integrated with the
standard console controls (either button or CRT) for ease of operation.
Playback occurs through the console's select or unselect speaker, or headset
if so equipped - if channel activity occurs during this phase, playback
is immediately suspended to receive the incoming call. Channel-check reduces
dispatch operator workload and improves efficiency by decreasing the incidence
of request for repeats.
New Mobile from E.F. Johnson

keys, and a front-firing speaker. The mobile an deliver up to 40 watts of
RF power and includes scan modes to prevent missed calls.
Expanded DAT Recorders
Dictaphone Corporation's Guardian and ProLog family
of communications recording systems now has the availability of nine gigabytes
of online storage capacity. Now up to 1280 channel hours of recordings can
be stored online for instant access; double the maximum online capacity
previously available on Guardian and ProLog. This additional capacity means
that a PSAP can potentially have virtually instantaneous online access to
weeks of recorded emergency response calls. Both systems record calls simultaneously
to a hard disk for instant playback, and to Digital Audio Tape for archiving.
Extending the amount of audio stored online gives users easier and quicker
access to more of their recently recorded communications. In addition, the
systems offer DTMF recording and decoding, a Windows 95 GUI, a user access
audit trail, T1 recording, enhanced search capabilities through CTI integration,
and real-time recording.
