RESCUE BEACON HOMES IN ON HELP
Emergency responders have often felt the frustration of not being able to rapidly locate the address of an emergency call, knowing life-saving seconds were being wasted. Poorly lit streets, missing or covered address numbers, unfamiliar streets or subdivisions, all can lead to critical delays in the response of emergency personnel and equipment. Rescue Beacon provides a unique chemical light beacon that can be seen by rescuers at a distance of up to one half mile. The low cost, non-toxic light source is activated by simply squeezing the center of the beacon, providing up to four hours of life saving illumination. The bright green beacon of light has adhesive backing which allows it to be applied to a location visible from the street. Electronic systems which activate outside flashing lights if 9-1-1 is dialed are expensive and limited to real property such as residences and businesses. Rescue Beacon costs less than $10.00 and has a shelf life exceeding two years. It can be used anywhere an emergency occurs: home, mobile home, RV, motel room or disabled vehicle.

Motorola's Worldwide Data Solutions Division (WWDSD) has introduced the Mobile Workstation 520. Motorola's next generation mobile computer is a ruggedized, three-piece unit that combines the flexibility of a wireless data terminal with the power of a desktop computer, effectively creating a mobile office environment for in-vehicle users, particularly in public safety and field service organizations. The Mobile Workstation 520 is ergonomically designed as three separate components to provide flexibility in both mounting and in use: a removable keyboard, a CPU unit with a 120 MHz Pentium processor and capacity for up to 32MB RAM, and a large monochrome VGA display permitting viewability in all lighting conditions. An optional integrated radio modem allows access to host computers and databases via Motorola's 800 MHz Private DataTAC networks. The Mobile Workstation 250 can also be connected to an external radio modem to support other RF bands.

CON-SPACE MASK MIC
Con-Space introduced the SR65 radio accessory which can be used with any make or model of breathing mask and in an hazardous, high noise environment. The radio-powered SR65 works with most current models of portable radios. The rugged waterproof radio accessory uses the ConSpace throat mic which is designed to give clear speech and comfort under abnormal work conditions, removing the temptation to lift face masks for clearer speech. Voice is received via a slim-line padded speaker providing excellent reception. It is designed for user comfort and solid placement over the ear. The SR65 comes equipped with a PTT that can be depressed even through heavy bunker gear or the most protective hazmat suit. The optional PTT allows virtual hands free radio communications.

  ZETRON SENTRISITE OPTION
Zetron offers the SentriSite Option to optimize ULTRAc Control and Monitoring Systems for RF site monitoring. Each ULTRAc RTU supports up to 44 inputs and outputs including security, tower lights, battery levels, generator operation, and other sensors. SentriSite interfaces the ULTRAc RTU with RF power sensors for conventional, trunked and cellular radio channels. SentriSite detects when the transmitters are keyed and records measurements of both forward and reflected power. Alarm or non-standard conditions are immediately forwarded to the ULTRAc Central Controller via wireless or wireline networks. Reported alarms are displayed and generate a list of voice or alpha page messages that are forwarded by phone, paging terminals or direct broadcast. Alerts continue until acknowledged by phone or radio. Voice messages are user recorded and users can send messages to SentriSite to perform corrective actions such as switching to backup power.

CHARGE THOSE BATTERIES WITH ACTIVATOR VI
Advanced Charger Technology (ACT), has introduced the six-bay ACTivator VI, incorporating ACT's patented Dynamic Electrochemical Waveform technology. In addition to charging faster than existing "rapid chargers," the ACTivator conditions as it charges, provides a maximum charge every time, and more than triples the life of any battery. Batteries can be left in the charger indefinitely without losing charge or incurring damage.

More than any other two-way radio users, emergency responders understand the critical need for dependable communications. By providing consistent, maximum duration charges in just a few minutes, the ACTivator responds to the long-standing request for a solution to battery problems. The new six-bay charger is flexible, allowing users to mount and remove batteries from any bay at any time. It also provides significant space and cost savings - and eliminates the need for costly reconditioners. In tests in police stations nationwide, the response from the field has been enthusiastic.
