PEI CREATES NEW MAGIC
Plant Equipment, Inc.(PEI), has released the next generation of MagIC, their powerful PC-based MIS package developed specifically for the 9-1-1 Public Safety industry. The new MagIC provides the ability to analyze, view and produce detailed reports on data from every element of the 9-1-1 system. This comprehensive management information tool utilizes client-server architecture and a SQL Server database. It has the potential of residing on any call-taker workstation in both VESTA and MAARS-View, eliminating the need for a separate PC. In support of phase II of FCC 94-102, it is 10 and 20-digit ANI compliant. MagIC can also schedule automatic/unattended reports, and perform all interactive reporting functions remotely. It has a call alert system when certain thresholds are reached and its standard reports include informative graphs and charts on data that is collected.

UNDERCOVER PRODUCTS FROM PHONAK COMMUNICATIONS
Phonak Communications introduces two products designed to prevent undercover police officers from being "made" in close surveillance situations. Both products have been used successfully by law enforcement agencies. The Micro Com Inductor can be used with any radio and replaces the ear piece that has the wire hanging from the ear that can be a "red flag" to anyone alert to surveillance. The Micro Com Inductor is completely hidden in the ear and inductively connected to the radio. The second product, the Radio Harness, hides the radio under a shirt where a jacket or coat would not be appropriate.

  LIEBERT IGBT-BASED MEDIUM-POWER UPS PRODUCTS
Liebert Corporation announced four new ratings of its transistorized 600T UPS line65,80,100,and 125 kVA. These new models bring big system features and controls to mid-range power levels. The products have the design margins, fault-tolerant logic and overload capabilities as Liebert's modules in the 150-1100 kVA range. The new modules feature "six-pack" Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) in their inverters. The Liebert 600T design makes optimum use of advanced-design IGBTs, with minimized switching losses, lower saturation losses, higher gain and better reliability. As a result, the Series 600T have lower parts count and smaller footprints than competing units. These medium-power UPS products have full dual-bus functionality, including such options as Load Bus Sync and Power-Tie configurations.

NEW DYNAMIC DISCONNECT EXTENDS AUTO EJECT LIFE
The new Model 091-18-098 Dynamic disconnect from Kussmaul Electronics, completely eliminates arcing at the Auto Eject by connecting the AC load after the power line connector has been installed and disconnecting the load prior to ejection. Auto Ejects, the automatic power line disconnects, have always been subject to arcing when the power line is installed or the plug is ejected. This can be especially severe when heavy loads such as engine block heaters are operated. This arcing can materially reduce the life of the Auto Eject and its mating connector. The Dynamic Disconnect senses the input AC voltage from the "shore line" and after approximately 2 seconds closes the load circuit. When the engine is started, the dynamic Disconnect opens the load circuit prior to the Auto Eject ejecting the plug.
